Theme: Take a Step Forward
Text: Matthew 4:12
12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee.
The imprisonment of John the Baptist, paved way for Jesus to start His ministry. John is to bore witness of who Christ is and he did that very perfectly ( John 1:19-34).
If those who give you help in difficult moments are reluctant to help you or those you look up to succeed are no more, don't get discouraged. Rise up and step forward. Until you step forward, you can't really see clearly the beautiful path ahead of you which you couldn't see because you were depending on others. Your victory is just a step away, take that step now.
Luke in his gospel, puts today's text as;
14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. 15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all (Luke 4:14-15).
Your glory awaits you but you can't have it being idle or depending on others to shine. Christ taught and did other things to reveal the power at work in Him. If you don't exercise your spiritual gift and talents, you will never be noticed. Rise up and do what is needful. Stop blaming others for your predicaments and take a step forward. If our Master had been reluctant, no one would have noticed what He is capable of doing. John the Baptist would have overshadowed Him as he was known to all.
There's a Galilee you must depart to. Assess your life thoroughly and take note of the Galilee ( the place of your lifting you must endeavor to work on). Ask God to empower you to take that step and grant you success. With God all things are possible.
Prayer : Abba! Father, grant me a discerning spirit to know when I have to take the next step in life. Empower me to succeed in Jesus name. AMEN!
