Theme: Responding Promptly to Divine Calls
Text: Matthew 4:18-22

18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Dear beloved in the Lord, you're a heir to the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus and needs to understand how significant it is to respond to the Father's calling. Are you reluctant when prompted by the Holy Spirit to do something? Then you need to work on that as quickly as you can.

The first four disciples of Jesus were going about their normal duties when Christ called them. The verses 20 and 22 states, they left whatever they were doing and immediately followed Jesus. No wonder three had been in the inner caucus of Jesus even unto the day at Gethsemane (Luke 9:28; Mark 14:32-33).

If you want to possess your inheritance in Christ Jesus, then you must respond promptly to every directives He gives you. Take a breath, begin to recall moments you didn't hearken to the Holy Spirit's prompting and the consequences of such actions. Compare it to moments you willingly availed yourself and weigh the two. You'll noticed that, obedience to the Lord brings healing, deliverance, joy, peace of mind, favour and divine blessings. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you to respond promptly to His nudging.

Prayer: I come to You Lord Jesus, asking You forgive me in moments I failed to hid Your calling. Help me to recognise Your voice as Your sheep and act promptly on every assignment You will give me here on earth in Your name have I asked. AMEN!
