Theme: Christ the Solid Rock
Text: Matthew 7:24-27
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Acting in accordance to the Word of God makes one wise. Indeed, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you adhere to the teaching of the Lord, you are more guided and delivered from evil than someone who doesn't. If you rely on Christ Jesus, whether in the storms, fire, predicaments of life, ill health, amongst others, you won't be consume because, you're founded on the Solid Rock (Isaiah 43:2).
However, the reverse is true of anyone who doesn't adhere to the teaching of God. If you rely on just anything, you'll be tossed by everything. You'll fail if you put your trust in riches, man, or possessions.
Christ's loving arms are open to you. Take a step of faith and move in to Him. Christ is the Solid Rock you can stand firmly on, all other grounds are sinking sand.
Prayer: Dear God, I've surrounded myself with sinking sand. I've ignore your Solid Rock and often fail to draw near. But this day, I acknowledge I've sinned and done what's evil. Forgive my sins and foolishness. Lift me to Jesus my Solid Rock and firmly establish me in Him. In Jesus name have I asked. AMEN!
