Theme: Be Not Bribed 

Text: Matthew 28:11-15

11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day

No matter how His adversaries try, Jesus' fame increases the more. After the divine resurrection, the chief priests didn't want the truth of His resurrection to be known and so they bribed the guards to say the disciples came for the body. What a shame. Beloved, the salvation of your soul lies in Jesus Christ. He's the only one that can save you and so, you must do what's right in His sight. 

Dear beloved what role are you playing in the Kingdom? Are you part of the chief priests or the guards? If you're always on the move to suppress others in evangelism or building the body of Christ, then you're not different from the chief priests. Do you invest your money, time, energy and what have you just to prevent the truth from being communicated? Do have take delight in marring others name? Then you need to realign your ways. Those are the characteristics of the chief priests. It is the way of destruction. 

You play the role of the guards if you are easily deceived or swayed from the truth. If you fail to study the word of God, you'll be tossed by any doctrine that passes by. You will loose your dignity and value as a child of God because false or evil spirits will associate with you. In this pandemic, take a time to just share the gospel even if it is a biblical verse you share each day, a soul will know about Christ as the Saviour of the world. Don't allow evil to bribe you into doing what is not worthy. Drop that bribe and go forth to proclaim to the world that Christ is risen and in Him is the fullness of life.

Prayer: Dear God, forgive me for not being able to obey the command of the Great Commission. Have mercy on me and help me to go all out in faith to bring light where there's darkness in Jesus name. AMEN!
