DEVOTION

Theme: Christ Our Vine
Text: John 15:1-8

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Christ is our vine and we are His branches. You can't be united with Christ Jesus and be unproductive. Dear beloved in the Lord, your deeds in the Kingdom work reflects the kind of fruit you are bearing. Are you productive or not? The pruning of the Lord is the attitude you develop as you go about doing the Father's will. Thanks be to Jesus, you're cleaned by His Word.

You can't live without Christ and attain salvation. You need Jesus so as to get that divine grace to be save. It is only in Jesus, you can't wither rather you're made fresh each moment you spend with Him.

Be reminded the unproductive branch will be cut off the vine and thrown into the fire. If Christ isn't in you, then you can't attain salvation. You will perish. If you've not met Jesus yet, kindly do so now. For if He abides in you and likewise His Word, you'll ask the Father what you desire and it shall be granted to you.

Prayer: Dear God, I want to know You and do Your will. Revive me spiritually to abide in Christ Jesus and make Your word richly abide in me in Jesus' name. AMEN!
