Theme: The House of Prayer
Text: Luke 19:45-46
45 Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”
Christ entered the temple and saw the usual. Trade and evil were taking place in the temple which should not be so. Jesus drove them out of the temple telling the people, the house of God, is a house of prayer but they have made it a den of thieves.
Dear beloved in the Lord, though there still exist man-made temples, God's interest is not in them rather, the temple indwell by the Holy Spirit which is your body. How well are you keeping your temple? Is your temple in a mess or not? Have you made it a house of prayer or a den of thieves?
Your temple becomes a den of thieves if you're spiritually dead and manifest any form of the works of the flesh; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry and the like (Galatians 5:19-21). If you're a culprit in these works of the flesh, then awake from your sleep, arise up from the dead and Christ will give you light (Ephesians 5:14).
Make your temple a house of prayer. Study the Word of God and bear fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (Galatians 5:22-23). If you live in the Spirit, do well to also walk in the Spirit.
Prayer: Dear God, help me be conscious that, my body is a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Grant me grace to make it a house of prayer. May the fire of Your altar in my temple be kept burning at all times in Jesus name. AMEN!
Amen
