Theme: Are You Judas Iscariot?
Text: Luke 22:1-6
22 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. 2 And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people.
3 Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 6 So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.
Judas Iscariot was one of the disciples of Jesus and known to be the keeper of the treasury (John12:4-6). The love of money made him betray his master (Matthew 26:14-16). Dear beloved in the Lord, to what extent do you go in life just to get what you desire? Do you betray, lie, or even kill just to occupy a position, possess an item or to make yourself rich? If these characteristics are manifesting in you, then you're not different from Judas Iscariot. You ought to change for the better.
The Spirit of envy and jealousy leads to all these evil desires. If you're not content with what you have, your selfish desires will lead you to do things you will later regret. The evil you're hatching in your heart will destroy you just as Judas Iscariot ended miserably (Matthew 27:1-5).
Reevaluate your life this season of Easter and amend your ways if they are in the direction of the betrayer. It's not too late to ask for forgiveness. God's loving arms are open to welcome you home.
Prayer: I come o God, that You may change my evil heart and mind to conform to Your ways and will. Help me to walk in the light that I may not go astray in Jesus name. AMEN!
Amen
