Theme: Restrain Your Lips
Text: Proverbs 10:19
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.
Talking in itself is not a sin but too much idle talk leads to sin. As a child of God, be mindful how you talk. The more you talk, the more you are likely to say what you ought not to say.
You need to develop a habit of hearing swiftly and slow to speak (James 1:19-20). Before you utter a word, ask yourself if it pleases the Lord. Watch over every word that comes out of your mouth and it is the sure way to avoid sinning. If you desire to be wise, then restrain your lips.
Prayer: Dear God, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight. Teach me to restrain my lips from sinning but strengthen me to reach out to others with the Gospel in Jesus' name have I asked. AMEN!
