Theme: Reveal the Light in You

Text: Luke 8:16-18

16 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. 18 Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”

You're a light because the Spirit of God resides in you. Light is meant to serve a purpose and so must not be hidden. The purpose is to make the region it is, clear for all to have good vision. Your light must equally shine in this dark world to help others journey through this life with ease and find the way to the Father. Your deeds bring out the light in you. In your doings, avoid being a hypocrite. Be sincere with all and let love manifest in all you do.

You can't hide your confession in Christ for long; no matter how your baptism took place, it will enter into the ear of many that you're born of God. Once you're redeemed, it will show forth for all to see and this can't be a secret anymore. Every deed in life, will be exposed by the truth in God's Word (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). Let your mind and heart conform only to God's will and Word. Don't let the things of this world consume you (Romans 12:1-2).

There's a given talent you have to make use of to benefit all. Each and everyone of us is given a talent according to our capabilities; The parable of the talent revealed, a servant was given five, another two and the last one. Amazingly, the one with the least couldn't even do much with his and so it was taken from him and given to the one with more (Matthew 25:14-30). Have you been blessed with the gift of ministration, preaching, teaching, hospitality, service amongst others? How wisely do you make use of them. If you refuse to make use of it to glorify God, it will be taken away from you and given to another who is willing to make use of it. In your little corner or world, just make use of your talent, don't let crowd or numbers discourage you. Just touch one soul at a time and one day, God will make the light in you shine even brighter than you ever imagined. You'll be known in distant lands and your works will speak for you. Don't hide your light, reveal it to all.

Prayer: Thank you God, for filling me with Your divine Light through Christ Jesus. Help me to work at making my light shine wherever I find myself. May I reveal Your glory to all in my words and deeds in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
