Theme: Be a Staunch Priest 
Text: Psalm 99:6-9

6 Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the Lord, and He answered them. 7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them.
8 You answered them, O Lord our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, though You took vengeance on their deeds. 9 Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the Lord our God is holy.



Understanding your identity is one key factor in winning your battles. The psalmist made known the priests of God; Moses, Aaron and Samuel who called on God. Amazingly, you're also a priest through Christ Jesus. You're just not any priest but a royal priest chosen for divine glory (1 Peter 2:9). You can also call on God and He will hear you if you're committed to serving Him. 

Hearing from God, requires building good relationship with Him. You don't get to speak with someone you fail to greet. If you'll awake each morning to greet God though quiet time (where you start your day fueled by the Holy Spirit), you'll hear from God in the day through to the night. He'll reveal Himself to you. The fuel (Holy Spirit) in you, will help you to reach out to others with the Gospel without fear thereby being obedient to the Great Commission order to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).

God loves us, no doubt about that, but when we sin, His loving Hands will reprimand us. Just as a father chastens his beloved child, so God does with us so He will keep us alert and on track (Psalm 94:12; 118:18; Proverbs 3:11-12;  Jeremiah 30:11 & Hebrew 12:6-11). Don't get fret when God disciplines you, He's only shaping you into holiness. Learn from every chastening of God and when you're done serving your punishment, you would have built yourself spiritually to overcome the cunning schemes of the devil and his agents. Remember, the priest must always stand holy before the Throne Room of God. 



Prayer: Dear God, thanks for the grace to be called into Your royal priesthood. Teach me to serve well and make me faithful to this calling in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
