DEVOTION

Theme: What's Your  Path; Evil or the Just?
Text: Proverbs 4:14-19

14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. 15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. 19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble

There are two paths in life: the path of wickedness and the path of the just. Psalm one gave much detail of these paths (You can also refer to 13th April, 2019 blog for more light on Blessings of the Righteous). You are not to walk the path of the wicked. It is evil and deadly to walk this path.

The wicked does not go a day without doing evil. Dear friends in the Lord, many of us have walked and continued to walk this evil path knowingly and unknowingly. The deeds of this path include pride, covetousness, malice, murder, stealing, lies, necromancy, occultism, betrayal, envy, anger, unforgiveness, amongst others. If you are caught in one of these acts, then you're really walking the path of evil. These characteristics explains why they can't sleep and their sleep taken away from them. Their desire is to see others fall, sorrowful, depressed, and victims in their hands because they eat of the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. Their way is dark and they stumble without knowing it. Many evil people have been caught in their own trap. Don't become one of them. Surrender to God and live a just life.

The path of the just is life to all who pass on it. The sun makes our day bright and helps in our businesses during the day. Likewise the just  does what's good and always want to put smiles on the faces of many. Walk the path of the just and you'll be saved at the end.

Prayer: Abba Father, You've taught me to walk the path that leads to life. This day I surrender to You and I ask You help me to walk faithfully the path of the just for You're Just Yourself this I pray in Jesus' name. AMEN!
