Theme: Watch Your Time
Text: Mark 13:32-37

32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

Just as we came into the world, so we'll exit at different times. Some may have a short time before us but it's really a fulfilled and complete journey for them. In Sam Cooke's Change gonna come, he said, "it's been too hard living but afraid to die because he doesn't know what's up there beyond the sky". This shouldn't be the saying for us who have hope after this life (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

You will not be afraid if you keep watch. Jesus told His disciples to watch. No one on this earth or in heaven can tell when Jesus is coming back likewise will it be difficult to tell who's next in line to die. It's therefore necessary to live each day as though it's the last. As servants in His ministry, we ought to be on guard through prayers and living by the knowledge of the Word of God.

The Word directs you to know what exactly you are here to do. Jesus has given you an assignment which you must accomplish before He comes or calls you home (vs 34-36). How prepared are you for eternity? Does your deeds please the Lord or not? If it doesn't, amend your ways now. You can never tell when your clock will tick no more. So you need to watch.

It saddens my heart we've lost a man who stands for the Gospel; Ravi Zacharias, but I have this hope that he's gone to a better place. He has fought the good fight and his crown awaits him (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Can this be said of you too? Dear beloved, watch your time, live for Christ. If you try to look on other people's time (assuming you are going to live longer or you have the same assignment), you'll miss your own for everyone has his/her separate time. Be who God has sent you here to be. Either as the servant (serving in the church, community, nation, and the world) or the gatekeeper(a pastor, evangelist, teacher, etc,) do it well and to God's glory. Don't be caught sleeping when the Saviour of the world appears. Be on guard; Watch!

Prayer: Dear God, teach me to number my days and apply wisdom to it. Help me to be alert at all times. Strengthen me to do Your will and accomplish my God given assignments here on earth in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
