DEVOTION

Theme: Hold Fast Your Confession
Text: Colossians 2:6-10

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Just as a child grows into adulthood so must a born again Christian grow into a matured Christian. This is well achieved by continual study of the Bible and fellowship with faithful brethren in the Lord. Your faith can only be well established if you're firmly rooted in the word of God.

Be not deceived by traditions that do not draw you closer to God. There are many out there who have misinterpreted the Bible and teach this falsehood. Their teaching is carnal and of this world not to the saving of your soul. The devil rules in them and manifest in them to deceive those who are not firmly rooted in the Word and even the elect.

The confession you have in Christ must not be replaced by empty talks. Strive to always discern what the Lord is saying about before you act. If you act before asking God, you will be tossed like chaff by the wind. You will be manipulated and destroyed by the devil and his agents. This is the time to evaluate your life and ask if you're under God's management or the devil's. If you're becoming carnal and see evil as normal, or laugh over it without doing anything, take note, you've been brainwashed by the deceit of darkness. If you find pleasure in listening to people who misrepresent the truth of the Bible or even uses it for jokes, then, know that you are away from God's path.

You can't come to God, unless Christ leads you. He is the way, the truth and the light. No one goes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). You're made complete in Christ Jesus for all things are subject to Him. How firmly are you in Christ Jesus? What's holding you back from growing in the Lord? Go before the Lord in prayer and ask Him to deliver you. Christ said, He has come that you may have life in abundance (John10:10b).

Prayer: I'm before You Lord, and I acknowledge my foolishness in the world. How I've allowed false doctrines and traditions to rule in me. But today, understanding Your Word, I pray You deliver me and give me a discerning spirit to resist and quench any form of false teaching and bring light where there's darkness in Jesus' name. AMEN!
