DEVOTION

Theme: Are You Circumcised or Uncircumcised?
Text: Jeremiah 9:23-26

23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
25 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised— 26 Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

For every life in existence, there's a purpose to achieve and as well give account for it. Life must not be lived basically on material possessions, wisdom, power, and earthly gains. Rather, each soul must strive to draw closer to the Almighty God and live according to the will of God. This is because we are accountable to Him for what He has given us. We have no excuses to give because God in His loving-kindness made provisions for our needs, His judgment is just and He rules in righteousness. God has made Himself known through Jesus Christ and has as well inspired spirit filled men to write the scriptures for our guide in this world.

The second coming of Jesus Christ to the earth will be to judge. As He has said in Matthew 25:31-46; where the sheep will be separated from the goats. The righteous (sheep) will enter into His rest whilst the wicked (goats) into everlasting punishment. Dear beloved where do you find yourself; amongst the sheep or goats?

Christ's judgement is not limited to only Christians but every soul on earth even the dead. Yes, the circumcised and uncircumcised will be judged and each shall receive his or her reward accordingly. Beloved in the Lord, circumcise your heart, cut off the things of evil that have taken control of your heart. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7-10).

The distinction between you a believer and the unbeliever is, the unbeliever refuses to submit to God's will or follow Him (the nations that are uncircumcised). Whereas the believer who is uncircumcised in heart though in the Lord, yet his heart is far from the Lord. This characteristic of the uncircumcised in heart is what the prophet Isaiah mentioned in Isaiah 29:13 and by Jesus Christ in Matthew 15:8-9.
And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote (Isaiah 29:13 New Living Translation).

Are you a lip service Christian or an active faithful Christian. If you're a lip service Christian, then you're uncircumcised in heart and the reverse is true of the active faithful Christian. Decide now where you'd like to spend eternity: heaven or hell? The choice is yours to make.

Prayer: Dear God, teach me to be humbled and faithful in my service to You. Help me to rend my uncircumcised heart and o Holy Spirit, fill me with the knowledge of God all the days of my life in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
