Theme: Jehovah is the True God 

Text: Jeremiah 10:10-11

10 But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

11 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”

All over the world, there are great number of idols people worship acclaiming they are their gods. But are they really right? Is there a true God aside these idols? Yes, there is. The idols are the craft works of men whereas Jehovah is the Creator of all things. The Amplified Bible describes these idols as scarecrows in a cucumber field (Jeremiah 10:5 AMP). Those that worship these idols will perish if they don't turn to the True God.

The Lord is the True God, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?(Numbers 23:19). God has never failed in any of His promises. He is faithful at all times even when we walk unfaithfully before Him.

He is the Living God and the Everlasting King. The men of old made know to us that the Lord is a Living God and likewise the pagan kings who humbled themselves before Jehovah God (Deuteronomy 5:26, 1 Samuel 6, Daniel 4:34, Matthew 16:16, John 6:57, 2 Corinthians 3:3, Revelations 4:9-10). God is not dead and will never die. He is alive and active amongst us, ready to save those who call to His name. By His Word, the nations tremble. 

These idols shall perish from the earth and under the heavens. Sure, the Bible never lies. When it rains heavily or there's a storm, you'll see how powerless these idols are. They are sometimes carried away by the wind or rain. Pathetically those who worship them chase after them to rescue the idols. The question is, who is now protecting the other: the idol or the craft man? If you don't want to be miserable when the Lord, the Righteous Judge returns, then turn to the True God and serve Him faithfully. There's only one True God, and that's Jehovah the I AM THAT I AM. 

Prayer: Dear God, forgive me for the many idols I've created all around me and neglecting fellowship with You. I plead the blood of Jesus to wash me clean and save me from idolatry. Come Holy Spirit and make Your home in my heart and rule in me now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!
