DEVOTION ~ DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS

Theme: Divine Instructions 
Text: Proverbs 19:20-23

20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days. 21 There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. 22 What is desired in a man is kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.
23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.



Every passing day is a learning process in life. To be successful in learning you need to heed to instructions. You need to listen to good counsel so as to be guided on the right path. It's prudent to associate with spiritually mature Christians so they can provide you insight of the Christian journey and how to walk it faithfully in the days to come (future).

Your aspirations could either keep you focus in the Lord or otherwise. If your plans do not conform to God's plan for your life, you're more likely to waste your life pursuing dreams that won't materialize or bring an end to your life. It is only the will or counsel of God for your life that will stand so look up to Him to perfect His glory in your life. Take note, just as others have been helpful to you, so must you to others too. 

An act of kindness is what everyone needs. If you're sincere and honest to a friend it's far better than deceiving them. Open rebuke is far better than secret love. A kiss from an enemy is deceitful (Proverbs 27:5-7). A poor man may have no money to offer in times of need but at least have reasonable ideas to offer. But a liar will always be untrue and has no regards in choosing words of promises. No wonder a poor man will be preferred over a liar. 

If you want to be satisfied in life, you need to have a lasting relationship with God. Obedience to God brings healing and life (2 Corinthians 7:8-12). Though the evil one will try to hinder you, yet the Lord will come through for you and give you the victory. 



Prayer: Dear God, Your word said, to obey is better than sacrifice. I need the touch of the Holy Spirit to be able to heed to Your instructions. Spirit divine, give me a nudging when I'm not walking in the will of God. May Your will be done in my life in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
