DEVOTION ~DWELLING IN GOD'S HOUSE

Theme: Dwelling in God's House
Text: Psalm 84:10-12

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

There's always a place of convenience for everyone. It could be a quiet place in the house, the club, the gym, playground, place of worship, amongst others. For you as a believer in Christ Jesus, the courts of the Lord should be your most cherished place. The psalmist say, a day in God's court is better than a thousand elsewhere. He further says, being a doorkeeper in God's house is preferable above the tents of the wicked. If you spend your time to do God's will and bringing people to the Light, there's a great reward for you than in the company of the wicked that take delight in afflicting pain on others.

As you do God's will, He illumines your path as the sun; His word becomes a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). He is a tower that gives security to those who comes to Him so to the psalmist, He is a shield (Proverbs 18:10). How can you have a wealthy dad and lack good things? That will be total absurdity. God owns all things and He gives it to whoever He chooses to (Daniel 4:17-37). He is your Shepherd and so you shall not want anything for His provision is great and comes perfectly (Psalm 23). You're highly favored for putting your trust in the Lord. He'll perfect His glory in your life and your family if you surrender to Him completely. God has never lied and He won't even start with you for His love for you is immeasurable.

Prayer: Dear God, I'm grateful for welcoming me into Your courts. Help me to do the needful in Your presence each passing seconds so I don't take pleasure in things that does not give everlasting benefits in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
