DEVOTION ~ FEAR NOT!

Theme: Fear Not!
Text: Psalm 20:1-3

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah!

In one way or the other, there's an element of phobia in every human being. The strongest man on earth has something that definitely puts fear in him, making him human. We have fears of loosing love ones, jobs, money, even the fear of danger or uncertainties in the future. But there's a hope for you in the Lord. God's words can give you encouragement to sail through the fear and come out victoriously.

When you're faced with your fears, confess Psalm 20 as prayer of assurance and encouragement. The blessings of this psalm are clear and each and every child of God should partake of this benediction. The psalmist says, may the Lord answer you in the day of trouble and may the name of the God of Jacob defend you. In whatever troubles you are in, just keep in mind, if you call on God, He'll answer you and be your defender. So don't get down casted, instead rise on your feet and call unto the Lord for deliverance.

The Lord will send help from His sanctuary. I love it that, we have another Helper who is the Holy Spirit. God has already sent Him to us and His presence is strength unto we who believe in Him. So instead of using out all your energy and yet getting no results, just tap strength from the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to take the burden and have His own way in your life.

There's remembrance for everything you do. Your offerings be it in kind or cash to the Lord is known to Him. Just like king Hezekiah, you can also go before the Lord to plead your case for deliverance (2 Kings 20). Your services in His vineyard, caring for the poor, widow, orphans, aged, sick, prisoners, and the vulnerable is ever before the Lord. He'll never forget you if you do them according to His teaching.

If God can come to your rescue, then what are you afraid of? Wipe your tears and begin to confess your victory in the Lord.

Prayer: Heavely Father, thank You for Your blessings over my life. I pray the yoke of fear be broken in my life. Help me to trust every word of Yours concern my destiny even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!
