DEVOTION ~ GRACE AND GRIT

Theme: Grace and Grit
Text: Isaiah 26:3-6

3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
5 For He brings down those who dwell on high, the lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust. 6 The foot shall tread it down— The feet of the poor and the steps of the needy.”

A relationship with the Lord shouldn't be a lip service as many have taken it to be. Coming before the Lord to serve must not be a stage performance or gymnastics to bring a wow to the worship. There's the need to understand the essence of your relationship with God. It is in this, your grit (courage) comes to play through your passion for God, and the willingness to persevere in difficult times so as to please the Lord. Grace (undeserved favour) is given to you, but you'll need to have grit (courage) to make good use of the grace.

When your mind is tune to God, you'll experience His peace. He'll comfort you with His solace through the Holy Spirit. It's not that your deeds are perfect before Him, but in His mercies, grace will locate you. Grace comes from Jesus Christ for in Him has the whole world found undeserving favour from God. As His grace abounds with you, you ought to cease the opportunity to be a blessing to all than to lord it over them. Continually trust the God who has put you in such position and He will strengthen you to accomplish great things.

However, the arrogant, proud, boastful, and their likes He humbles. Whatever position you occupy, it's by grace that you're there. Be it as a father/mother, pastor, CEO, judge, student, self employed, employee/ employer, politician, just name it, you're there because God has given you the opportunity. Don't abuse it, use it to glorify God. When grace locates you, develop grit to work well to honour God.

If you fail to do God's will, you will loose that title that's making you so proud. As the scripture says, the foot shall tread you down. The feet of the poor and the steps of the needy. Those you've looked down upon, or you've been mean to, will even be valued above you. You'll not only loose your title, but your honour, respect and dignity also. God's grace abounds, but don't abuse it. Develop courage through faithful service to trust the Lord and do His will.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for Your grace that abounds with me and had seen me through life to this very stage. Help me to serve well in the capacity given me in my family, community, fellowship, nation, and in the world to bring Your glory to light in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
