DEVOTION ~ THE WORSHIPPER'S PRAISE!
Theme: The Worshipper's Praise!
Text: Psalm 71:6-8
6 By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You. 7 I have become as a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge. 8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day.
We often do not know how our birth took place. Usually people or our parents try to tell us events that happened when we were born. That's the physical perspective of the mortal mind. What about the spiritual happenings? The operations of darkness to hijack your destiny or even kill you at birth. It is something your earthly parents can't see or tell but God has the power to. Even when you were being formed in secret by your parents, God was there. So His presence was there when your mother delivered you. Oh! Beloved in the Lord, there's this birth that's greater than this physical birth. This birth is being born again in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is the power of God that delivered you the day you decided to surrender to Jesus. He took you out of darkness and the sins of your ancestors. The curse was broken because, God held your hand when you were coming out of that womb (the womb of sin, curses, darkness, perpetual death, etc...). So if there's any praise, it must go to Him alone. You've been born by the water and of the blood and held by God's mighty hands so the devil cannot truncate your life (God's divine purpose for you).
So when the psalmist says, he has become a wonder, get the understanding that, those who knew your past (history of your ancestors) cannot fathom the power of deliverance that's at work in you. Declare aloud right now that, you're fearfully and wonderfully made in the image and likeness of God (refer to Psalm 139:13-16 and pray).
Don't keep the onlookers in the dark and in dismay, tell them God is your refuge. Tell it with your mouth. Glorify the Lord with hymns and other songs that exalts His name on high. Take this moment and begin to worship the Lord for His marvelous works in you. Be a worshipper in all things and at all times. Don't only worship when things are pleasant. Having understood the powerful works of God over your life, don't waste time, open your mouth and begin to worship Him. You can stand with your hands lifted, kneel, prostrate or just choose your own position and praise the name of the Lord.
Prayer: Thank You my Creator and God, for preserving me in the ages past. You've shown Your love and works in me for all to see and marvel. All I ask is the tongue of a worshipper. May my praise continually come before You as a pleasing sacrifice. May I reach out to others so we all come before You with praises in Jesus' name have I asked. AMEN!
Thank You Jesus for saving me.
