DEVOTION ~ THE LORD IS MY PORTION

Theme: The Lord is My Portion
Text: Psalm 142:5-7

I cried out to You, O LordI said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living. Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me.”

Belongingness and possession are a part of the human life. We often desire to belong to a group or even possess something worthy. Earthly possessions do not give us ultimate safety and security in life. Having Christ however gives assurance of safety and security. The psalmist says the Lord is His refuge and his portion in the land of the living. Knowing there's a glorious life hereafter, it's important to establish strong relationship with the Lord. Make Him your portion here on earth so that you'll always seek the Lord above all other things and His divine blessings will locate you.

When the Lord is your portion, He rescues you from persecutors of your destiny. When you call unto Him, you'll be saved (Romans 10:13). No power can prevail against you if the Lord becomes your portion. He'll deliver you and keep you safe. Your chains of captivity and bondage will all fall for having Jesus as your portion. Praise will never lack from your lips and you'll have lots of testimonies to share to encourage others.

In Sharing your testimonies, you will draw people to Christ's saving grace. Your companions will be those who fear and reverend God. God will continually perfect His glory in you. The lines shall fall in pleasant places for you. God's perfect will for your life will be carried out without limitations. Make the Lord your portion and enjoy the blessings that come with doing so.

Prayer: My refuge and my portion in the land of the living, I've chased empty things that can't give me life all these years. By the knowledge of your Word, I repent of my ungodly ways and I surrender totally to Your will. I pray my spirit be stirred in the direction of the Holy Spirit so I can confidently hold on to You in this life in Jesus name. AMEN!!!
