DEVOTION ~MY VOWS, MY VICTORY

Theme: My Vows, My Victory
Text: Genesis 28:20-22

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, 21 so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God. 22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”



Vows usually takes place between us and God, where we assure the Lord of a pledge to keep in order for Him to fulfill a purpose in our lives. Jacob made a vow requesting for God's guidance, protection and blessings as he goes far from home. It should also be our pledge with God when we're embarking on a journey. Whatever the journey you're on: i.e education, career, business, marriage, investment, ministry, etc, you need to commit everything to God's Hands.

Dear beloved in the Lord, it is only with the Lord your vows can be made wholly. Do not make vows with idols or the wicked. Walk with God like Jacob who surrendered to God immediately God revealed Himself to him. We have established few days ago that, Jesus is the rock and we're are the house of God. Make God your God. Serve Him faithfully and redeem your vows.

As the preacher admonished us, When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed— (Ecclesiastes 5:4), we need to redeem our vows on time. Do well to also give your tithe accordingly. There's divine blessings accompanying the paying of your tithe (Malachi 3:8-12). Learn from Jacob and do the needful even as you journey through life here on this earth. All your victories are in the vows you've made to God. Redeem the vows and your blessings will overflow in every sphere of your life. 


Prayer: Dear God, I surrender to Your will. Take absolute control over my life. Help me to accomplish every divine assignment given me. May victory locate every field of my life even now and forevermore in Jesus 'name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
