DEVOTION ~SEEK THE LORD!

Theme: Seek the Lord! 
Text: 1 Chronicles 16:11

11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!


We have our lives to live but imagine if the owner takes it, what's there left of us? It means we're dead. It's therefore important to draw near to the life giver. The life giver is God. The psalmist says seek the lord and His strength. How do we seek the Lord? Isaiah gave the reply to this question; "6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7)."

While we still have breath, we need to seek the Lord. That's the time He could be found in our lives for after death, we can't change our ways. Dear beloved in the Lord, you need to start driving your energy on things of the Kingdom of God. To seek the Lord is to desire to do His will irrespective of the outcome. Sometimes people will see it as insanity but I call it the faith. There's going to come a time you can't seek God's face. Your present tent can't have the strength to declare who God is because it would have return to the earth it came from. But your soul lives to face the judgment of God. The preacher said, "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come and the years draw near when you say, I have no pleasure in them (Ecclesiastes 12:1)". Your youthful days are here on earth. Keep in mind, the memory of the dead is a warning to the living. The brother or sister lowered down the earth in a coffin is telling you weep for yourself not him/her. It's for that reason, when entering the cemetery, it reads goodbye, we were once like you but when existing the inscription reads, you'll soon be like us.

There's life after here. It's either to life (salvation) or death (damnation). Which will you desire for your soul? You have the choice to decide today as you read through this devotion. If you decide on choosing salvation, then seek God's face forever. Forsake the carnal living and seek the face of God. Live for Him and not for yourself, He created you to seek Him forever so keep to that.


Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for all Your mercies in my life. I haven't been good in seeking Your face in my life's journey. Please forgive me and help me take off every weight and obstacle between us. I pray the Holy Spirit to guide me to be able to seek You forever in Jesus' name have I asked. AMEN!

    I will seek the face of the Lord at all times both in happiness and in sorrows through the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
