DEVOTION ~YOUR HOPE WON'T BE CUT OFF!

Theme: Your Hope Won't be Cut Off 
Text: Proverbs 23:17-18

17 Do not let your heart envy sinners,
But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; 18 For surely there is a hereafter,
And your hope will not be cut off.


The psalmist says, do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day. Who then is a sinner? A sinner is anyone who doesn't adhere to God's Word. Sin is sin irrespective of how small it may look before you. Don't envy those who prosper by usurping others, use dubious means to get promoted, or have what they want even when it goes against the will of God. Such people may be prospering on the outside (physical appearance) but their inner being is rotten that's why, you must not envy them. What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? That's what will actually happen to sinners. They'll lose their soul in the unquenchable hell fire.

If you desire to escape that unquenchable hell fire, then you need to heed the psalmist words to be zealous for the fear of the Lord all day. That zeal will give you the strength to obey the Lord and there are rewards that come with it. You are a pilgrim here on earth. There's a hereafter, where you'll account for all you've done with the time given you on earth. How well are you prepared to give this account? You need the blood of Jesus to cleanse you from your sins. This blood speaks for those who believe in Jesus. You need to return to the Lord if you've gone contrary to His Word. It is in this hope that you can attain salvation.

Your hope of salvation shall not be cut off. By the grace of God, you'll make it to heaven if you fear Him and do His will. While even here on earth, your expectations will also be met by the divine intervention of God. He won't fail in His provisions for you neither will He let you down. If you put your trust in the Lord, the lines will fall in pleasant places for you. What are you trusting God for? Don't doubt God in your heart rather keep faith in all you expect Him to do for you and it shall be established.



Prayer: Abba! Father, I'm grateful for the word You've given me today. Forgive me for desiring the ways of the wicked and ungodly. Cleanse me from every form of disobedience and help me to fear You Lord. I pray for an increased faith to trust You my God and King even if my carnal wisdom doesn't make good reasons out of it. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
