DEVOTION ~ POSITION YOURSELF WELL

Theme: Position Yourself Well 
Text: Romans 16:17-20

17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.


There are diverse beings on earth. Some are good as others are bad. Bad company corrupts good character and so as a Christian, you need to be alert the company you find yourself with. As the Apostle Paul admonished, you must note the behaviors of your companions. If their conduct goes contrary to God's will and teachings, then you must disregard or disassociate from them.

Persons who sow discord among brethren, must be disregarded. Usually their language doesn't tone to the Christian language. They breath out lies, deceit, gossip, wickedness, selfish intentions, amongst others in their conversations. This does not help the church to grow rather it sets it apart. If you have such characteristics yourself, you need to let go of them. If your friends have such nature, you'll have to separate from them. Have you positioned yourself well in this regard? If yes, then you're obeying God and the reverse is true if you say no. 

Let your obedience to the Lord be made known openly and not secretly. Involve or engage yourself in things that are of good report than evil. Always choose good above evil. Don't drag yourself in the mess of evil company. Heed the Lord's voice in all things. Your obedience will give you victory over the devil and all evil around  you as the Lord will crush satan under your feet. You'll receive rest and peace from God for He is the Lord of peace. May the grace of Christ give you victory in all you do. May the Holy Spirit help you to position yourself rightly in all sphere of your life. 



Prayer: Gracious God, I thank You for the Word. Forgive me for the evil company I've dwell with all these years. Cleanse me from this evil. Holy Spirit divine, touch me and help me to position myself well in all aspects of my life even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!

    Father Lord let your Holy Spirit separate me from bad and evil company that are hidden around me. Forgive me my sins and also guide me to position myself well in life.

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
