DEVOTION ~ BE GENEROUS

Theme: Be Generous
Text: Proverbs 22:9

9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor.


An act of kindness is required of us each passing moment so we can show the world the generosity of God. Never ignore the pain of others. Always be concerned about the well-being of others. You need not have in abundance before you share with others. If you're generous with the little you have, then you can do better when given much. 

Giving to the poor is good and we all must reach out to the poor and vulnerable in society. If we are concerned about the poor the blessings of God locates us. We ought to learn from the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). It is through an act of generosity Abraham encountered God (Genesis 18). You'll also encounter God and His blessings divine if you are generous. May the Holy Spirit break you free from the bondage of selfishness and open your eyes to be generous towards all. 


Prayer: Father in heaven, You're much pleased with cheerful givers. Help me to give cheerfully without announcing my act of kindness in public. Open my generous eyes to see those in need so I can reach out to them. Empower me to have the poor, vulnerable and needy at heart. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
