DEVOTION ~ DISPOSITIONED NOT DISPOSSESSED

Text: Genesis 39:19-23

19 So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me after this manner,” that his anger was aroused. 20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison. 21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. 23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.



Today's devotion concludes our lesson on Joseph in Potiphar's house. With her sweet lies, she managed to arouse her husband's anger towards Joseph so he'll be sent away. Potiphar took Joseph into prison where the king's prisoners were confined. Take note, Joseph wasn't the king's prisoner but grace located his lifting point for him even in moments of difficulty. If your ways pleases the Lord, He will always make you shine. 

Joseph has been dispositioned in Potiphar's house (relieved of all his duties as the overseer and man of authority) however, he hasn't been dispossessed (the favour and blessings of the Lord upon him hasn't been taken away). It's rather unfortunate Potiphar lost the blessings that located his household due to the evil deeds of his wife. This blessing was transfered to the king's prison.

When you have right standing with God, He will favour you wherever you find yourself. Grace located Joseph because he chose not to disobey God. Even in prison, the mantle of authority was handed over to Joseph because he possesses God's blessings. May this anointing locate every sphere of your life. May the adversary never snatch your glory and blessings. When the enemy tries to destroy you, may the grace of God speak positively into the situation. May the Lord prosper the works of your hand for putting your trust in Him.


Prayer: Abba! Father, thank You for the grace to possess Your blessings. May Your favour locate me to possess every field I tread with the mantle of Your authority. I pray You visit every sphere of my life and favour me before nobles, people in high authority, kings and queens, governors etc. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!

    May God forgive me all my trespasses and give me the Grace to withstand the sweet lies and may I be restored with lost faith, Grace, blessings in Jesus' name..Amen ..

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
