DEVOTION ~ LIVE BY FAITH

Theme: Live by Faith
Text: Galatians 2:17-21

17 “But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Christ came to die for sinners but He does not encourage sin. It is for this reason, he can't be a minister to sin but of righteousness. In Him is the fullness of all righteousness of which He has called us to partake of to be justified as righteous in His name. With this newness in Christ, we need to resist sin.

We've been crucified and raised to live with Christ and so we must show it in deeds and in words. The live we are living is not to gratify ourselves but to please the Saviour of our souls. We must be what he expects us to be. We should not take pride in counting our righteous deeds with the aim to measure our righteousness.

By faith, we can live righteously. For the law in itself will condemned us. For when we transgress one of the laws, all have been transgressed. It is difficult to fulfill the requirements of the law that's why God's grace through Christ Jesus has located us. Christ's death is our saving grace if we believe in Him, so let's abide in faith in all we do.

Prayer: Merciful Father, thank You for the mercies of Your unfailing love over my life. I pray Your love teach me to live by faith. I pray I don't become self righteous or boast in doing any good deed. I pray the desire to live for Christ be stirred in me by the Holy Spirit so I can do Your will in Jesus' name. AMEN!
