DEVOTION ~ IN GOD'S PRESENCE

Theme: In God's Presence
Text: Psalm 26:6-8

I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O Lord,
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wondrous works. Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells.

When the saving grace of God delivers us from sin, we need to present ourselves before God in the garment of holiness He has adorn us with. Our hands can only be washed in the innocent and speaking blood of Jesus Christ. His blood gives us right standing with God as it has atone for our guilt.

If we can freely come before God by His grace, then, we ought to be thankful. Our thanksgiving must manifest in the form testimonies that declares God's wonderful works in our lives. The more we testify of God's goodness in our lives, the more we draw perishing souls to His saving grace. The psalmist said in another psalm, he was glad when they said unto him, let us go into the House of God (Psalm 122:1). Praise be to God, His House is within us and His Holy Spirit dwells in us ( 1 Corinthians 3:16).

God's glory is in us and so we need to love one another and desire good for all. If we love God's habitation, then we need to keep it clean. Therefore, whatever defiles us, needs to be done away with so we can avail ourselves for the Holy Spirit to use us to reveal the glory of God. Goodness and mercies shall continually follow us as we are already dwelling in the House of the Lord (Christ in us is the hope of glory).

Prayer: Thank You God for the mercies to come into Your presence each day. I'm grateful to have Your righteousness which allows me to approach Your presence in boldness. Teach me to serve in Your presence faithfully and to declare Your works to all in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
