DEVOTION ~ DIVINE RECONCILIATION
Theme: Divine Reconciliation
Text: Romans 5:6-11
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
The greatest reconciliation that ever happened in history is the reconciliation of a fallen man with His Creator. Through the sins of our early parents, we fell short of the glory of God. God used different means to bring us back to Himself but all did not yield as the more He draws closer to us the more we do things that displeased Him. God therefore sent Jesus to show His love towards us as sinners that the Righteous Branch will die to redeem sinners. Let's ask ourselves if we can give up living for someone we will consider as not worth dying for? So if Christ has done this for us, we need to appreciate it and canonize Him daily.
The blood of Jesus has blotted our sins away and by faith (believing in Him) we have escaped the wrath that is to come upon the sons of disobedient. This reconciliation will produce an eternal life to those who have faith in Christ Jesus. Our joy always should be to thank God for uniting us to Himself again. For this reason, our lives must proclaim indeed we have been safe by grace to the glory of God.
Prayer: Thou alone O God are worthy of praise. Amongst the gods, there is none that is ever ready to die for his ungrateful servants, but You have shown much love by sacrificing Your only Begotten Son so an unworthy sinner like me can be reconciled with You. I appreciate Your kind gesture. Help me to show this in my deeds and words to Your glory do I ask this in Jesus' name. AMEN!
