DEVOTION ~ THE GATE OF THE LORD

Theme: The Gate of the Lord
Text: Psalm 118:20-24

20 This is the gate of the Lordthrough which the righteous shall enter. 21 I will praise You, for You have answered me, and have become my salvation. 22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. 23 This was the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Gates usher us into cities, building and places we want to visit. In the Christian world, there is but one gate. This gate is Jesus Christ. When we pass through Jesus (the Gate), His righteousness falls on us making us to have a right standing with God. The yoke of sin and damnation are broken for us to have our liberty in Christ Jesus. When we wholeheartedly come to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, He forgives us and crowns us with divine salvation.

To those who believe, He gave power to be called children of God. The ministry of Jesus was challenged with a lot of people doubting His Sonship to God. His own did not welcome Him for He was rejected by them. But when the hour of glory came, not one of those who opposed Him could hinder Him being glorified. If we trust in the Lord, we will also overcome the adversary and his agents.

It's the mercies of God, we are not consumed. Give Him praise at all times. Enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts. The Lord has done a lot in our lives both physically and spiritually which are awe before us. We have been saved by grace, through Christ Jesus. Let our hearts make merry; Rejoice and be glad in God's works in our lives. Don't ever come out of the Gate of the Lord for there's nothing profitable outside God's dwelling.

Prayer: Your works O God are marvelous. I thank You for Your mercies that have found a sinner like me. I pray for forgiveness for my secret sins, wilful sins and presumptuous sins. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus and help me to never come out of the Gate of life. Holy Spirit divine fill my lips with God's praise in Jesus' name. AMEN!
