DEVOTION ~ I WILL PRAISE THE LORD

Theme: I Will Praise the Lord 
Text: Psalm 135:1-4

135 Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord; Praise Him, O you servants of the Lord! 2 You who stand in the house of the Lord, In the courts of the house of our God, 3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant. 4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.


The Lord's praise must be upon our lips daily. We need to ascribe His praise to Him continually for the great and marvelous works He performs in us. We are the handmaids of the Lord and what He requires of us is to praise Him. The psalmist said, whoever stands in the house of the Lord, should praise God. As we have the Holy Spirit in us, we must even praise Him the more. For the house of God is us.

God has been good to us from ages past even unto this day. It is pleasant we give Him praise. Let us count our blessings and consider the saving grace of God in our lives, we have nothing to offer but praise that will rise up as a sweet fragrance to the Lord. We are the called and chosen of the Lord. Our identity is sealed in praise: glorifying God for  creating us in His image and giving us back our lost glory through Christ Jesus. Let our sacrifice of praise rise to the Lord Almighty.



Prayer: Praise be to Your name O God for the I have tasted and seen Your works. I will exalt Your name on high for there's none like You in the heavens, on the earth and in the seas. I will sing of Your goodness at all times and declare Your deeds to the nations. Take glory Father, Son and the Holy Spirit for perfecting Your glory in me through Christ Jesus my Lord have I prayed. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
