DEVOTION ~ LIFE AFTER DEATH

Theme: Life After Death
Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Dear beloved in the Lord, death does not end our lives but rather, it is the beginning of a glorious life for us believers. There's a better place for us in the Lord after death we must therefore strive for that glorious place than earthly riches. Christ is the firstborn of the dead and His resurrection is a complete assurance we shall also be raised to live on the Lord's Day.

The dead in the Lord will be raptured first before the living. It hurts loosing love ones but we are encouraged by this text we will meet again after a while. As we mourn the dead, we must have a second look at our own lives. If there are wrongs we've got to correct, we better do it while we have breath. For the worse nightmare of our lives will be missing out on the Day of the Lord. However, we will make it if we believe in our Lord Jesus Christ. As we hurt and mourn a lost loved one, may we be comforted that we will meet again. There is indeed life after death.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the provision of another life after this earth. Help me to walk in Your precepts and to hold unto You in faith. I pray Your Word Comfort me for the lost of my loved ones and be strengthened to abide in You so I meet them in glory someday. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!
