DEVOTION ~ THE MARK OF VICTORY

Theme: The Mark of Victory
Text: Exodus 1:8-14

Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, “Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; 10 come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and it happen, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us, and so go up out of the land.” 11 Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses. 12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel. 13 So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor. 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.

Many years after the death of Joseph, the Isrealites became a threat to the Egyptians. Unfortunately, the new leadership had no idea of Joseph and what he did for Egypt. This could either be as a result of improper record keeping or laziness on the part of the leadership to read. Leaders, must learn to read through all handing over notes and be well informed of past events.

When adversaries rise against us, they will see clearly and attest that, we are more and mightier than them just as the king told his subjects about the nation Israel. You have a mark of victory in Christ Jesus that scares the enemy whenever he takes a look at you. When your sorrows multiply in the Lord, understand that, the anointing you carry is what the devil want to fight you over so he can suppress you. If you focus on Jesus, you will overcome the schemes of the wicked.

When the storms of life rages against you, keep in mind, Jesus has conquered and calmed the storms. The enemy is just doing his possible best to increase your burden (make you serve with rigor and to make life bitter for you). You have the power of the Holy Spirit to be victorious in all battles of life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the mark of victory upon me. Help me to stand firmly when the enemy rages war against me because of my mark of victory. Teach me Holy Spirit divine to never be discouraged or ashamed of the power that rests upon me. May I continually win all battles of my life to God's glory. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!
