DEVOTION ~ THE POTTER'S HAND

Theme: The Potter's Hand
Text: Jeremiah 18:5-6

5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! 


From the dust of the earth, the Lord God formed man and breathed into him to become a living soul. He is our Potter and He knows how best to mould us. We cannot define our existence in the absence of God. If we try to eliminate the God factor in our lives, we only expose ourselves to danger.

Just as the potter does what he pleases with the clay in his hands, likewise must we avail ourselves for the Lord to use us in the manner as He pleases. The Potter's Hand can transform our lives, marriages, children, career, business, education, family, ministry, community and every sphere of our lives if we trust our lives into His care. As clay in the Hands of the Potter, we should not dictate to the Potter how we should be shaped. Rather let us in humility look up to the Potter to shape us in the right form to fit into His glory.


Prayer: I am the clay in Your Hands O God. Mould me into the shape You desire I should be. Forgive me for the times I have tried to dictate to You how I should look. Please help me to accept Your way and will for my life, family, marriage, children, career, education, business, finances, investments, etc. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
