DEVOTION ~ WHAT THE LORD DOES
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. 10 The Lord shall reign forever—Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!
We are more able to give account of people by mentioning some things they can or cannot do. However with God, there's nothing He can't do. In this devotion, we'd like to look at things the psalmist mentioned to God's credit.
To the psalmist, God is a healer. He opens the eyes of the blind. Jesus' ministry attested to this. He performed lots of miracles in healing diverse illnesses even raising the dead. Dear beloved, if you're spiritually or physically sick, turn to the Lord and call to Him to heal you.
God is also seen as the Lifter of the righteous. When you draw near to God in humility, He will exalt you on high. Whoever desire to be exalted, must learn to be humble and submissive to the Lord. Our righteousness is evident in Christ Jesus not by our natural deeds, we must therefore strive to keep faith so we remain in the Lord.
God is a Guard, Watchman, Helper, Deliverer, and the list is endless. He watches over strangers (we are strangers on this earth - so God watches over us) to keep them safe and focused in the spiritual track. He brings relieve to the fatherless, orphans, widows/widowers, helpless, destitudes, etc. God fights their visible and invisible battles for them. He frustrates the ways of the wicked and so they cannot prevail over those that put their trust in Him.
God is King and Master of all creation. Let us worship Him and serve Him faithfully. Recount all the good things the Lord has done for you and share testimonies to encourage others in the faith. God will reign forever as Lord. Hallelujah!
Prayer: May Lord, King and Master, I am grateful for Your grace that brings good things my way. You have never given up on me in any way. Help me to serve You faithfully and to testify of Your wondrous works in my life. I surrender to You and give You all that is mine, that You reign in my life even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I prayed. AMEN!
Yes and Amen
