DEVOTION ~ BUILDING YOUR HOPE

Theme: Building Your Hope
Text: Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

In our Christian journey here on earth, we need to move by faith and not sight. The faith in us gives us peace from God as we have been reconciled with Him through Christ Jesus. We are therefore confident we will be welcomed into God's glory someday. This expectation is our hope and we need to work at it to lead us to the Lord.

The Christian journey is not a leveled one to walk on since it is a narrow path. This narrow path comes with its own challenges and it is our deeds that will determined whether we have developed hope enough or not. In walking on this narrow path, we must glory in every tribulation. In tributions, we are able to endure the pains (persevere) giving us a character to wait patiently on the Lord.

Waiting on the Lord must be devoid of fear, doubts, anxiety and murmuring to enable us build a character of wholeheartedly trusting God. This is the hope we are called to embrace as dear beloved children of God: not doubting God even if His promises keeps long to manifest in our lives. For hope does not fail in any way. God is continually fulfilling His promises through the Holy Spirit in us. May the Holy Spirit empower us to keep hope till the end of time.

Prayer: Father of grace, thank You for the mercies to call me Your own. Forgive me for my fears, doubts and anxiety. I pray the Holy Spirit strengthen me in moments of tribulations that I may persevere, have the character of not giving up and the hope to believe all things are possible with You. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!
