DEVOTION ~ FOUNTAIN OF LIFE

Theme: Fountain of Life
Text: Proverbs 13:9-14

9 The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out. 10 By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well - advised is wisdom. 11 Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase. 12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. 13 He who despises the word will be destroyed, but he who fears the commandment will be rewarded. 14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.


Jesus Christ is the giver of life as He made know in John 10:10 that He has come that we may have life in abundance. The fountain of life is in Him and whoever desires to have eternal life must associate with Jesus Christ. In Him is the fullness of righteousness and light bringing joy unspeakable in the lives of believers. However, total darkness is the portion of those who do not believe in Him. 

The Lord is also the giver of wealth without sorrows attached to it. The proud and arrogant will be lowered by God. The horn of their pride (what they take pride in) will be broken by God. Their dishonest gains will dimish completely accompanied with sorrows. However, anyone who labour's faithfully will have divine increase. If you commit your labour into God's Hands, He will bless it for you and give you divine increase. 

The law which is the fountain of life to the believer, strengthens the hope of the believer that he shall be remembered and rewarded by God for all the good he has done. In God's own time He will reward the faithful without failing. Though it is not easy waiting, don't give up for it is worth the waiting. Those who despise God's Word will be destroyed as stated in Proverbs 29:1 "He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy." Yearn for the Lord's will to be done in your life and you will never miss His reward for His obedient children. 


Prayer: Father in heaven, I desire to draw from Your living fountain. Please forgive me for my abominable ways and guide me through this journey on earth. I pray that my deeds and words will shine as light for those in darkness to walk on to Lord. In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray with thanksgiving. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
