DEVOTION ~FIELD OF BLOOD

Theme: Field of Blood
Text: Acts 1:15-19

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said, 16 “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; 17 for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.” 18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. 19 And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood.)


Every Word that comes from God is accomplished as He has said it to be. Judas' betray has long been prophesied by David. His guilt brought punishment upon him such that, his body was crushed into pieces when he fell headlong. The money he collected from those he helped to arrest the Christ, was used to purchased a land which has been named, Field of Blood.

There are many fields of blood in some families, workplaces, community, politics, education, businesses and other places where human beings exist. The ungodly step you have taken to occupy that position, makes it become a field of blood. You do not need to physically buy a land so as to be named as such. Your deeds in life will determine if you are purchasing more field of blood than saving lives. 

You're always numbered amongst the people you betray as a man or woman with a common goal of lifting the group (family, ministry, organization, etc). Don't become a Judas looking for loopholes for power to change hands to you or circumstances to become favorable to you at the detriment of others. 

You may not burst open like Judas, but will experience what he experienced in different ways. You'll not find peace, joy or fulfillment in life. You will always be deceived by the enemy you've not gotten to the place you'll find all the joy you desire. This manipulation will only lead you to death and eventually damnation if you do not change. Ask God to help you do away with every field of blood in your life.


Prayer: Father in heaven, I have been untrue to You and my fellow brethren who trusted me to be a part of them. Forgive me for the denial, betrayal, cynicism, and every negative step I made to be where I am today. Holy Spirit divine, I plead Your presence in my life, that as I am in Christ, I will be a new creation by the renewal of the mind and transformation of my heart to conform to God's will. This I ask in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked.
