DEVOTION ~ READY TO PREACH THE GOSPEL

Theme: Ready to Preach the Gospel
Text: Romans 1:8-15

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers, 10 making request if, by some means, now at last I may find a way in the will of God to come to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— 12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. 13 Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles. 14 I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. 15 So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.

As dear beloved children of the Lord, we need to be ready at all times to preach the Gospel (the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ) to the world. The Apostle Paul availed himself to be used to reach out to all manner of people in his days. His letter to the Romans revealed his love for them not only by word of mouth but demonstrating it by mentioning them in his prayers always. All leaders - in church, family or cooperate world must emulate this so as to build up the weak.

Nurturing others in the Lord must be done well so as to assist them to grow spiritually. The faith of the Roman church has been mentioned in the whole world. Likewise, our own faith and those we are nurturing must see divine lifting. The will of God must also be seek and adhere to diligently so as not to be misled by the devil. We must strive to receive the gift of the Spirit through ceaseless fellowship with the Holy Spirit. For this establishes our faith and ministry.

Dear beloved in the Lord, how prepared are you to preach the Gospel? You can't go out without the Holy Spirit and expect good results. Avail yourself to the Holy Spirit so He can use you to bring Light where there's darkness. Imitate the Apostle Paul in accomplishing the Great Commission through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Thank You Lord, for the knowledge of Your Word. Forgive me for not heeding to Your calling to reach out to those in darkness with the Good News of salvation. Help me to be ready at all times to preach the Gospel and to be an example of Christ to the world. This I ask in Jesus' name. AMEN!
