DEVOTION ~ REWARD FOR THE GENEROUS
Theme: Reward for the Generous
Text: 3 John 1:5-8
5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, 6 who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, 7 because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.
The ministry of the Lord is purely one of charity and so, we are called to show this to the world. The Lord loves cheerful givers and He rewards such ones immeasurably. Gaius had been good to the believers who were carrying out the Great Commission command as well as strangers. His good deeds have been mentioned amongst the people of which the Apostle also got to know.
Dear beloved in the Lord, you're a custodian for the Lord's resources He has blessed you with so that, you can also reach out to others in their moment of difficulties. If you give generously to promote the ministry of others in the Lord, assist an orphan, widow, the poor, aged, sick, and vulnerable in the society, you shall be greatly rewarded by God. You will do well in every sphere of your life for God will keep supplying to you.
What you spend your resources on, is what you have partnership with. If you spend them on promoting crimes, evil, immoral behaviors and the likes, then you're into partnership with the world and the devil. However, if it is for the glorification of God's name and to promote peace, unity, community development, and the likes, then you're in partnership with the Lord and Light. This partnership with the Lord will bring great memories to your name, joy unspeakable and abundant blessings in your life and generation. May the Lord enlarge your rent and divinely bless you without measure that you can also transform lives around you.
Prayer: Jehovah Jireh, I'm grateful for all You've blessed me with. Teach me how to be generous in the little I have so that, I may do exceedingly more when it increases. I pray for divine enlargement and prosperity in my life to support good works. May Your blessings that makes wealth and adds no sorrows locate my life even now and forevermore in Jesus' name have I asked. AMEN!
