DEVOTION ~ BE MINDFUL OF YOUR WAYS

Theme: Be Mindful of Your Ways
Text: Isaiah 47:8-9

8 “Therefore hear this now, you who are given to pleasures, who dwell securely, Who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, nor shall I know the loss of children’; 9 But these two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness
because of the multitude of your sorceries, for the great abundance of your enchantments.

To draw closer to God, you need to keep to His command and as well be humble. If you love the pleasure of the flesh, you will not be able to live by God's standards for the things of the flesh contradicts God's purpose. Usually, because of the enjoyment that comes with it, you're most likely to believe, evil is far from you. The Lord has a message for you today.

God is calling on you to have a relook at your life. If you take pride in your beauty, scholarly wisdom, riches and forget others around you, note that, a day comes when you'll have sorrows just as they have. As the prophet Isaiah made known the word of God, those who take pride in all these things will be consumed by misery. For what you take pride in shall be taken away from you. God will break the pride and bring you down (Jeremiah 13:8-9).

Dear beloved in the Lord, whatever you have today is by God's provision. Do not ignore the Lord rather acknowledge what he has done for you and be a blessing to all other people. Resist idolatry and its pleasures for it will only ruin your life. God is still on His throne and keeps record of what you do with your life. Make useful the time you have here on earth by doing the Lord's will before the evil day comes when you'll say all you ever did was vanity. Be a life changer by touching others in the little way you can as a child of God.

Prayer: The God that lifts the humble and bring down the proud, take Your glory and honour. I worship you this day for having mercy over me even though my life does not deserve it. I pray for Your forgiveness and divine touch to transform me to be a submissive soul in Your presence and with others in discharging my duties. Make me a vessel of Your glory even now and forevermore in Jesus' name. AMEN!
