DEVOTION ~ THE FLOOD OF UNGODLINESS

Theme: The Floods of Ungodliness
Text: Psalm 18:4-6

4 The pangs of death surrounded me,
And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. 5 The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears.

An unrighteous life only sparks flames of fear and regrets. Sin does not allow the soul to find rest rather, it causes restlessness in the doer. The Holy Scripture made it known, the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23). The psalmist said, the pangs of death surrounded him and the flood of ungodliness made him afraid. When one commits sin, it brings about torment in the life of the individual the most sorrowful of all the consequences for sinning is death.

An unrepented soul that dies has no hope of repenting in death. The chance of repenting is right here while you're alive. Confess your sins to the Lord so that He can cleanse you from them all. If you fail to seek forgiveness from the Lord, there's no hope for you after death. Terror and evil will await you in hell. Having a well balanced life in Christ will give you confident to say, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain".

Lay aside every weight of sin, call on God through confession. Do not keep company with those who do evil. Resist them by submitting to God's command. If you do His will, you can call upon Him at any given time. He will hear your cry and forgive you. God is merciful, and His mercies are renewed each day towards every single individual. Forgive those who trespass against you as you so also desire God to forgive you.

Prayer: Thank You O God for the grace provided that I may confess my sins and You are faithful to forgiven me. Forgive me for entertaining sin, bitterness, unforgiveness, faithlessness, doubts in Your promises, etc. I pray for a renewed mind in Christ Jesus. May I be transformed to God's glory in all I do. This I pray in Jesus name. AMEN!
