DEVOTION ~ GOD HAS FORGIVEN YOU

Theme: God Has Forgiven You 
Text: Psalm 85:1-3

85 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah 3 You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.


It's another beautiful day and as we rise from bed, let's lift up our voices to thank God for the grace to be counted amongst the living. God is good to us in all things. The wonderful deed of the Lord is what the psalmist is making bare to us in today's text. 

God has been favorable to the land of our birth, the land we find ourselves in and every part of the earth. This land can be your life as well. The favour of God brings deliverance to anyone who believes and trust his/her life into God's care. Don't hold back your land (your life, marriage, children, career, finances, ministry, family, list every sphere of your life) from the saving grace of God. Release every thing you have to the Lord and you will be amazed at what He will do for you.

When the favour of God locates you, it takes away your iniquities and covers them with the blood of Jesus. The Lord sees the righteousness of Christ in you but not your undeserving deeds of righteousness. Due to this, He freely forgives your sins by eliminating any form of wrath you would have faced for disobeying God's command. God holds back His anger when the Blood of Jesus speaks over your life. God has forgiven you your sins and blotted it out of your records completely because you have the seal of Christ. 


Prayer: Dear God, had it not been for Your mercies, how can I afford to atone for my sins? I can never thank You more than enough for blotting away my sins with the precious blood of Jesus. I surrender to You and ask the Holy Spirit to guide me through this life even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
