DEVOTION ~ LET GOD DEFINE YOUR DESTINY

Theme: Let God Define Your Destiny 
Text: Isaiah 48:13-15

13 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from what shall come upon you. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, nor a fire to sit before! 15 Thus shall they be to you with whom you have labored, your merchants from your youth; They shall wander each one to his quarter. No one shall save you.


In an age where people's attention is keen on what is likely to happen next in their lives, they resort to mediums that isn't right seeking answers. The prophet Isaiah gave a remark that, such people are wearied in the multitude of their counsels. If you leave the presence of God with hope of turning your destiny right, you're just trying to be a fresh egg wanting to see what's outside its shells; it will not live to hatch into a chick so will you not achieve your dreams too.

Don't allow the calendars of astrologers, stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators to have its effect on you. The horoscope and other games that predicts your destiny is never the will of God for you. What such premonitions do in your live is to distort your path leading to your God ordained destiny (both spiritual and physical). Unfortunately, those evil people you take counsel from are not able to even solve the problems of their own lives before attempting to help you out.

A destiny defined by God, is one that leads to eternal life and escaping the torments of the furnace of helll. If you have depended on horoscopes, prognosticators amongst others to make your life beautiful but have been unsuccessful, then the Saviour of your soul is calling out to you to help you out. Draw near to God today and it shall be well with you in all things.



Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for not seeking Your counsel in the issues of my life but depending on fortune-tellers, horoscopes and the likes to predict my future outcomes. Help me to resist such temptation and trust You solely to the end. This I ask in Your Holy name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
