DEVOTION ~ THE LORD, MY SUPPORT

Theme: The Lord, My Support 
Text: Psalm 18:16-19

16 He sent from above, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
From those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. 19 He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.



The Lord Almighty is always ready to protect His own. The psalmist said, help came from above for him and he was taken out of many waters. The troubles of life can keep compounding but you should not let it trouble you for God holds the key to your life. God is ever present in the flood, fire and storm with you. He won't permit evil to override you (refer to Isaiah 43:1-3).

The Lord will deliver you from your adversaries. The enemy is constantly looking for ways to pull you down. It is for this reason you must never withdraw from God's presence. For when you are in God's presence, there's a divine hedge covering over your life that secures you from the wicked. Anyone in Christ is guided by the Holy Spirit. You're equally guided too. The Holy Spirit in you gives you strength and courage to be a victor in all things. 



Prayer: Gracious Father, thank You for always showing up in my good and bad moments in life. Forgive me for not being grateful. Increase my faith Lord, that when reason fails, I'll continually employ faith in the situation. This and many more I ask for in Jesus' name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
