DEVOTION ~ THE LORD'S JUDGEMENT
Theme: The Lord's Judgement
Text:Isaiah 11:3-5
3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist.
In yesterday's devotion, we learnt a Branch of Jesse shall reign forever and we identify Him as Jesus Christ. He has done the redemptive work successfully by dying on the cross and resurrecting on the third day. His second return is what we will be looking at in today's devotion. Jesus will return to judge the world as a King who will demand of His servants to give account of what they have done with resources given them.
The salvation of the Lord is a free gift and for that matter, anyone who believes in Him and accepts Him as Lord and personal Savior will be saved. The righteousness of God gives a seal and identity to those who who believe. The judgement will not be by sight or hearing but with the mark of righteousness. The spiritually poor and weak who look up to Him in faith, will not be put to shame. Just like the case of the criminal on the cross, they will also enter into God's paradise.
However, the sons of disobedience will not go unpunished. When the righteous enter His rest, the wicked shall be consumed in His wrath. Dear beloved in the Lord, what will be your fate on that day? Will you be counted amongst the chosen or those marked for damnation? If you're still struggling to surrender completely to the Lord because the accuser is deceitfully speaking into your ears, then it's time to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. Let righteousness not forsake you, put it on at all times and hold on to the confession of your faith until the Lord returns.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come before You seeking You lift be high above the challenges of life. Settle me on a stable land that my faith will not waver. Help me to be able to stand the test of time. May I be found worthy to enter into Your rest when You return to judge the earth. Thank You for saving my soul from damnation. In the name of my Lord and personal Saviour Jesus have I prayed. AMEN!
