DEVOTION ~ YOU'RE NOT AN ISLAND

Theme: You're Not an Island
Text: Isaiah 47:10-11

10 “For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said, ‘No one sees me’; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’ 11 Therefore evil shall come upon you; You shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; You will not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come upon you suddenly, which you shall not know.

In yesterday's devotion, we learnt we must be mindful of our ways. Evil habits must be shun and the spirit of humility be embrased. Today, we are continuing with some things we trust that would not be of help to us as children of God. As a child of God, you're called into a bigger family that you must never abandon or reject in any way.

Evil cannot be hidden from God although He hates it. Therefore, do not take delight in doing evil but rather flee from ungodly behaviors. God is watching and will uncover your evil deeds if you do not repent. Do not boast in doing evil but rather strive to make a good name in the Living God. If you're crushed by God, you cannot rise again, so seek to find favor with God.

If you live in wickedness, you will make more enemies than friends. Attacks shall come upon you from all angles as your evil deeds leave traces of where you can be found. You will not be able to put it off. If you are unable to control the enemies you're making, you'll even loose your firneds in the process. No man is an island, so do not create room to become one. May the Sceptre of righteousness lead you to a place of divine pasture.

Prayer: Father of life and the undiluted love of my life. Thank You for performing Your glory in my life. Take hold of my hands and shake eveil form of evil in me out that Your purity will have its fullness in me. This I ask I the Mighty name of Jesus. AMEN!
