DEVOTION ~ CHRIST IS ALL THAT MATTERS

Theme: Christ is all that Matters
Text: John 5:20-23

20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

In the Christian family, the Father is Jehovah God and the Son being Jesus Christ. Obedience is established in love and so as Christ obeys the Father, the Father's love also manifested in His life. The miracles Jesus performed and continues to perform all come from the Father. Our ministry cannot see growth, sings and wonders if we fail to have Christ. He is also the resurrection and the life (John 11:25) no one can receive eternal glory without Jesus.

God will bring everything done under the sun to judgement. The Righteous Judge for that glorious Day will be Jesus. He will pass the final verdict. Dear beloved in the Lord, will you be condemned or acquitted? Your response depends on your relationship with the Saviour. If you're not in any firm relationship with the Lord, begin to ask for forgiveness and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to walk in God's will.

How are you honoring the Lord? Does it please the Lord? You are to honour the Lord with all your substances and declare Him openly before the assembly (openly) as your Lord and personal Saviour (Proverbs 3:9&10; Matthew 10:32&33; Luke 12:8&9). You must not be ashamed of the Gospel (the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ) for it is your saving grace (Romans 1:16) . If you are denying the now, He will also deny you before the Father and host of angels. Nothing matters most apart from Jesus. Prioritize Him in every area of your life and let His glory be revealed in you even now and forevermore.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of the Son. I am grateful it shall not be by my works or sacrifices to be saved but by the grace in the Son. Empower me O Holy Spirit that I may be zealous with the things of the Kingdom, in the study and meditation of the Word, fervent in prayer and to walk in faith daily. I glorify You Lord even now and forevermore in Your Holy Name. AMEN!
