DEVOTION ~ DWELLING IN UNITY

Theme: Dwelling Together in Unity
Text: Psalm 133:1-3

133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

We've been called into a ministry laid on the foundation of love. Jesus is the Head of this ministry and we are His beloved bride. Being a part of this ministry implies, you have agreed to walk with the Lord. The mark of identity is love and unity.

Set it in your heart to pursue this goal in the year to live in unity with all. It's pleasant for you to dwell in unity with others because it brings about peace. The oil upon a concecreted head flows in unison. There's no distinction in the oil, and that is how the church must be. If you're quarrelsome and sow the seed of discord, then you have deviated from being a bride to Christ. The oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments symbolizes an unconditional love towards everyone irrespective of their status in life.

The dew falls indiscriminately on the earth; it wets anything it comes into contact with - waters the plants of the field, cools down the heat from the stones and brings relief to anything it touches. As a child of God, you must also be a dew to the souls around you by comforting, nurturing and giving them reasons to still hope in the Lord. By this, the command of the Lord's blessings will be seen; you're called forth to bring life to others (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Prayer: Unite us O God in Your love. Teach us by the Holy Spirit to seek good for all and to dwell in harmony. May the spirit of strive, malice and evil be cut off from our dwellings. We pray the love of Christ to reign in our spirit, soul, heart and mind that we will dwell together in unity even now and forevermore in Jesus name. AMEN!
